HIGH POWER RIFLE

The event is open to all shooters. It is shot with a service rifle; the club has four rifles for shooters use. Open sights only no scopes. The event takes approximately two hours. A cease fire can be called by anyone when observing anything that is unsafe.
Equipment Needed:
1. Service rifle open sights.
2. Minimum of 50 rounds of ammunition.
3. Eye and ear protection.
Course of Fire:
1st stage consists of 10 rounds standing no sling, offhand in 10
minutes, shot single shot. You are allowed 2 sighters in a 3 minute preparation
period.
2nd stage is 10 rounds in 60 seconds going from standing to sitting. On command of
Range Officer you load two or five rounds, depending on the rifle. On command you go to a
sitting position, fire loaded rounds, then reload the remaining rounds eight or five and
fire until 10 rounds or 70 seconds are completed.
3rd stage consists of 10
rounds in 70 seconds from standing to prone. You have two sighters in a 3 minute
preparation time. Target is changed to simulate a 300 yard target. On command you
will load two or five rounds. On command you will go to a prone position and fire loaded
rounds, reload and fire remainder in the allotted time.
4th and final stage is 20 rounds in 20 minutes, single shot. You are allotted 2
sighters in a 3 minute preparation period. Targets are changed to simulate a 600 yard
target. When given the command you load one round and fire until 20 rounds are expended in
a 20 minute time frame.
Fees per relay are $5.00 per club member and $10.00 per non club member.

in the Service Rifle Division was taken by an Frank Marciniak (437 2 x) followed
by Steve Wixted (430 3 x) and Brian Corcoran (412 3 x)
High Score in the Match Rifle Division was taken by Adrian Marciniak (469 7 x)
followed by Wilson Santana (103) and Bill Vallely (197)
Next month we will once again run the 50 rd national Match Course
