Equipment needed:
 | Any safe Air Pistol using pellets no larger than .22 caliber. |
| Any sights may be used. (There are some air pistols available for the matches) |
Air pistol silhouette targets are 1/10th the size of high power rifle targets and 1/8th inches thick.
A club match consists of forty shots, a Regional Match Course is eighty shots and a National Match Course is 120 shots. All targets are set on 2x4 steel faced boards, shoulder high. Ten targets are on each board, and a bank consists of five animals separated by a black painted line.
The firing line consists of four shooters who shoot at a bank of five animals in 2 1/2 minutes. Each firing lasts approximately 1/2 hour. Depending on the number of shooters additional firings will take place. Scores are kept by other competitors directly behind the shooter. Medals are awarded at each match.
